The performance: This honor could have to any of a number of Hawaii Prep boys soccer players after Ka Makani won the 44th annual Ka Makani Soccer Classic.

But according coach to Rich Braithwaite, Jim, a freshman, deserved it for the way he played in the center of Ka Makani’s back line.

“We allowed one goal in three games and he was flat-out amazing,” Braithwaite said.

Gearing up for the BIIF season, HPA beat Seabury 13-0 in the opener, tackled Kalani 5-0 in the semifinals and stopped BIIF powerhouse 2-1 in the overtime final.
